 "Excellent driver" 2010-06-20

I've had this drill for a year now and it's never failed me during the hundreds of screws that we've put in together. It carries so much torque that it can push four inch starbit screws into pressure treated wood faster, easier and quieter than an 18 volt Makita impact driver.

Rust? Sure, there's a little rust on the tip after a year of outdoor use, but it's never affected my work. I'm not making food with it!

If I had to complain, I might say it's a little heavy, but that's what you would expect from a half inch drill. The 18V Dewalt hammer drill and the corded half inch Miluakee Magnum drill are both almost twice as heavy as this one.

Of all the drills I've used (including a 12V Makita), this is the one I like to use the most because it has so much versatility. If you don't have a drill, this would be the one to get.

 "First Bosch Product." 2009-10-04
By Mark S. Davis (Archbald,PA)
I was looking for 14.4v cordless to replace my 14.4v Hitachi.I was looking for a drill with a 1 hour or less charge time,descent battery life and power. The Bosch 34614 fit the bill.It charges in 30 min.I'm changing batteries all the time and It has plenty of power.I did a lot of research before purchasing and this was the best drill for my needs. I purchased this drill through Amazon.com because it was the best price and free s&h. I also received it in a very short time. I would definitely recommend this product and buying through Amazon.com.

 "Great Cordless Drill/Driver" 2009-09-13
By Forest K. Duncan (Houston, TX USA)
I have had a previous version of this drill for some time now, and it has never disappointed me. The older version that I have has a 3/8" chuck and NiCad batteries. It has a very powerful motor and the batteries hold a charge for a long time. I purchased this new model to use as a second drill at a weekend place. I haven't had this new model for very long, but the advanced battery technology should deliver even more power.

The drill handles easily and works well, and I've never felt a need for one of the more powerful 18-volt drills for jobs around the house. This 14.4-volt model should provide more than enough power for the average home user.

One of my favorite features of these Bosch cordless drills is the locking spindle, which will not spin when the motor is off. This allows the keyless chuck to be tightened or loosened without the spindle and motor turning freely. ALL drills with keyless chucks should have this feature, because the spindles that spin freely often prevent the user from getting the chuck as tight as necessary.

 "Slick driver" 2009-03-11
By J. White (New York)
I just received my drill a few days ago so really don't have a long term report. But....with that said, I can say that it is a very much nicer tool then the ancient (in cordless tool terms - 6/7 years) Porter Cable 12v drill. It is very smooth, lighter though it has a couple more sub-C batteries in the pack and has a chuck that so far actually will hold a drill bit without spinning loose and requiring a Jacob's Chuck for a replacement. I charged a battery when I got it - and just changed it out for the other charged battery after driving many sheet rock screws plus turning a 1" Forstner bit through several holes plus several drill bits. So far, I'm impressed and have just ordered a 1587 jigsaw to add to my growing complement of Bosch tools {I also have a great 1004VSR 3/8 drill - it's getting costly with a bunch of tools all needing replacement at the same time :-( }

Fits my hand like I was the model for the mould! Forward and reverse button well placed. Charges fast, Light weight, great value. Powerful enough for 90% of building a house. I bought the light for the same battery. Together they make installation easy.
