The Bosch PS40 impact driver is a great tool. After weeks of research I purchased this impact driver and a Milwaukee Combo Set to replace my stolen 14.4 volt Black and Decker Firestorm drill/driver and combo set. It was an instant upgrade. It is light, compact (it will fit in a large pocket or a nail bag), and balanced. It feels good in the hand. It is also amazingly powerful, felling stronger than my 14.4 volt drill. The batteries charge quickly and last a long while (and one of my included batteries is 12 volt). A spare battery will easily fit into a pocket. The light is a welcome addition to my life. I use this tool as a screw driver, not as a drill.
The impact driver aspect of the tool means that the bits drive screws more easily and last longer. However..... when in impact mode, which seems to be most of the time, the tool is VERY LOUD! Do not underestimate the significance of this. During much of it's use the tool is about 18" from my ears. On the occasions when I have not bothered to retrieve a pair of earplugs, I have regretted it. However, this tool easily and forcefully drives screws in difficult materials and locations. I highly recommend buying it if it is what you need. For most household uses I would first consider purchasing another 10/12 volt tool, perhaps the Bosch PS 30 Drill Driver, the PS 20 Pocket Driver or the PS10 I - Driver. I plan to eventually purchase the Drill Driver.
CPO Bosch delivered the goods promptly and in great condition. They appeared to be new, rather than reconditioned. I would gladly purchase from them again. I am also very pleased with my tools purchase from CPO Milwaukee.

Bought this impact couple months ago. At first looked nice. I liked this tool until i started doing professional job. After working all day long (disassembling paint booth) i noticed a smell that came from that impact. After 15 more minutes it died. Will never buy Bosch again. Bought Snap On 14.4 instead. Cannot compare them. Snap On takes any job and wants even more.

This tool is great for an A/C mechanic, It seems like I take out or put back a million screws on A/C panels or I'm using the tool for putting in sheet metal screws in sheet metal.
This Impactor is light to carry and use. The battery charge last a long time and I'm very impressed with the life of the battery. It is easy to take on a roof or hold above your head when I am putting up supply grills.
The light on the drill is genius, Seems I'm always in a place that is dark so the light lights up the area of the screw.
This drill is not for boring holes in wood, You would need a larger capacity drill for that. But for most jobs this drill is a must tool.
It has taken a beating for a year and still runs perfect. One of my buddies was so impressed he had to get one too.
